Animating Cloth from Examples

Abstract:

In this talk, I describe my efforts to create cloth animations from
video of actual cloth.  I divide my work into two categories: texture
replacement and 3D modeling.  In texture replacement, I develop
methods to edit existing video and alter the surface albedo by
estimating texture warp and illumination without a 3D model.  In 3D
modeling, I record sequences of custom printed cloth on multiple video
cameras and reconstruct 3D models.
